I truly appreciated this book as an architect

This book is helpful on many levels and lets you get a great in depth look at residential architecture. Clears up a lot of the mystery and sets you straight on just how "easy" designing houses really is. Helpful insight into everything from contracts with client, to meeting with clients, billing, drawings, contractors, and close out. Great examples at end of chapters to bring it all together. Also, wonderful section on clients to avoid.

Well written - and quite useful

Michael Malone's "Guide to Residential Design" not only delivers on the title's promise but goes beyond that, as the book is a little gem full of practical advice and examples that could be on every architecture firm's library. It is well written and comes with guidance, advice and examples that can be put to good use in the practical world of architectural business and design.
