About the Author
Birgitte Rasine is the author of "The Serpent and the Jaguar: Living in Sacred Time," "Verse in Arabic" and other short fiction, an upcoming historical fiction novel about the history of cacao, and countless other works ranging from journalistic articles to independent screenplays. She also serves as the Chief Evolution Officer (CEO) of LUCIT� Inc., a hybrid design and communications firm. Birgitte holds a BA in Film Aesthetics from Stanford University, studied cinematography at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, and completed a professional masters degree in international relations in Spanish at the Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset in Madrid, Spain. She is a Founding Circle member of the Association of Women in Water, Energy and the Environment, as well as member of other professional organizations, and sits on the board of directors of the American Fund for Czech and Slovak Leadership Studies, a non profit organization in New York City dedicated to supporting the leaders of tomorrow. She lives in Northern California.

It's just informative and beautiful. I use it every day. It gives you not only the view of how 20 naguales influences everyday, but there is wide explanation of how every trecena rules. Also, it is good that names are in Yucatec and in K'iche'

I first heard about this book two months ago, as I was travelling through a Maya site in Belize.
If you want to get a good insight on how the Maya calendar worked, this book needs to be read.

Fantastic book and apps!

"The Serpent and The Jaguar" is a must read for all of those intrigued and inspired (or unsettled!) by the Mayan Calendar. Birgitte brings us the 260 unique daily energies, written in an eloquent and deeply poetic way; creating a roadmap that helps us to better understand and incorporate Sacred Time into our daily lives. The year 2012 is about awakening to our true nature; remembering what we once knew but have long since forgotten. "The Serpent and The Jaguar" does exactly that and in many ways serves as powerful stepping stone. In addition, two iPhone apps exist that beautifully complement the author's work ("MCP Mayan Tzolkin" and "My Mayan Match"). I highly recommend both the book and the apps!
